We’re always up for high tea at The Westin Melbourne, but the High SocieTea has us very excited. Bringing decadence to a whole new level, this limited-time high tea will be served in the incredible Lobby Lounge between August 12 and October 13. The three-tier high tea stands are a celebration of caviar, cheese and chocolate with The Westin’s skilled pastry team curating an indulgent afternoon for every guest.

Picture this… a generous offering of Oscietra Caviar, mauri mascarpone and Brillat Savarin cheese scone topped with a 12-carat gold leaf, presented theatrically complete with a cloud of smoke and stylish tasting dishes. You can also expect house-cured king salmon steeped in juniper and champagne, accompanied by wild scampi caviar in a handmade charcoal tart. Cheese lovers will devour the decadent slow-baked Le Conquerant camembert, finished with a sprinkling of lemon thyme and truffles, followed by a Nduja salami and Mauri taleggio cream filled Berliner with bacon dust, and Murray region 12-hour braised pulled lamb shoulder served over soft milk buns and topped with chevre cheese.

You will want to save room for dessert, which is on the final tier and complete with a black forest cookie gateaux with a delicious soft-centred filling, a warm chocolate tart with burnt marshmallow and whisky Anglaise, and Valrhona Amantika bark with raspberry and Olsson’s red gum salt. Guests can enjoy a selection of premium wines from the Yarra Valley or a cocktail for those more adventurous.

High SocieTea High Tea at The Westin Melbourne

For guests who want to linger a little longer, The Westin has curated a High SocieTea Sleepover Package. This includes afternoon high tea in Melbourne CBD for two, overnight accommodation, valet parking, breakfast for two in the hotel restaurant and a late check-out at 12pm. This can be a great idea for a bridal shower, hen’s party or a get-together just because.

Executive Chef at The Westin Melbourne, Apoorva Kunte, designed this decadent experience as a love letter to pairing luxe ingredients and incorporating locally sourced produce. Apoorva Kunte has worked at The Ritz Carlton and beside three Michelin Star Chef “Alain Passard”, famed Italian Chef Luciano Parolari and Norwegian Chef & Paul Bocuse Award Winner: Geir Skeie. Safe to say, Executive Chef, Apoorva Kunte, is uniquely skilled to design such a high team menu.

“The lavish combination of caviar, cheese and single-origin chocolate carefully curated into a unique high tea experience is rare and I’m excited to present this in the unparalleled 5-star setting of The Westin Melbourne,” said Executive Chef, Apoorva Kunte.
